Dr.Abebech Gobena was born from her father Ato Gofe Heye and her Mother Wosene Biru on October 20, 1935 in North Shoa Gerar Jarso Woreda Torben Ashe Kebele in the Village Called Shebel Abo. Since her father, Gofe Heye, was killed by Italian invaders at her age of one, she grew up by her grandfather Heye Bedissie.

Injera Production

Daily production of injerra through traditional methods occurs at the Association. Every morning more than 5000 pieces of injerra are delivered to several hotels within the city. We also export our product on a regular basis.

Sweater Making & Screenprint Press

Sweater making, screen printing, and the production of school and security uniforms are core activities carried out in your facility, referred to as the Shurab making facility. All garments are meticulously crafted by hand, starting from spinning the thread to assembling the clothing components, which are then sewn together either manually or with the help of machines.

In the screen printing process, the facility uses hand screens to apply multi-color prints on various surfaces, including fabrics, plastics, and metals. This service is customized according to the specific orders of clients.

Sweaters are available for purchase at the display shop or can be made to order, catering to specific needs and preferences of customers. This facility offers a comprehensive range of services to meet diverse demands in garment production and customization.

Flour and Spice Mill

We employ many local residents in the process of making flours and spices using both traditional and machining methods.

Located within the compound is a flour mill which grinds many different grains to make flours which are sold from the shop within the compound and to hotels. The same mill is also used to grind many different spices to make traditional spice mixes as well as individual spices.
