Abebech Gobena Charity is contributing to the increase in enrolment rates of school aged children including increasing access to an educational facility and improving the quality of education provided.
Abebech Gobena Primary School and Burayou Primary School
Abebech Gobena Charity is contributing to the increase in enrolment rates of school aged children including increasing access to an educational facility and improving the quality of education provided.
To do this, it had established its own primary schools, one in Addis Ababa, the ‘Abebech Gobena Primary School and one on the outskirts of Addis Ababa in Burayou. Both schools provide free education to those children living under the care of the Charity as well as children living in the surrounding areas. Currently the schools the schools are handed over to the community.
Community Programs
In addition to running its own education facilities Abebech Gobena Charity provides assistance to other schools throughout the region. This assistance comes in various forms including the construction of buildings at:
- Ethiopia Edigat Primarily School
- Felege Birehan Primarily School; and
- Africa Unity School
Further,
- Built and improved sanitation in schools by providing clean toilets and water facilities.
- We have stocked libraries with books in than 12 schools in the intervention areas.
- We have organized different training programs at different times to teachers in many different government schools; and
- We provide school materials, uniforms and pays school fees for an average of 2500 students annually.
